Hong Yip has been actively introducing innovative technology, dedicated to promoting the digitalization of property management industry and creating a smart community in Hong Kong. The Company has collaborated closely with Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) for many years to jointly develop innovative projects including a Mixed Reality (MR) smart training platform, which recently won a gold medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2025, further confirming Hong Yip's excellence in the field of innovative technology.
Hong Yip's Chairman and CEO, Mr. Alkin Kwong, stated: “Hong Yip is always committed to integrating technological applications into employee training and customer services. This collaboration with HKMU not only builds a diverse training platform for employees, providing a more effective training experience that helps them become familiar with handover and maintenance work, but also enriches HKMU students' practical experience in innovative technology design, assisting Hong Kong in cultivating more innovative tech talents and injecting new momentum into the city in the long run. Hong Yip aims to provide ultimate management service with the integration of innovative technology and environmental protection management, in order to create a better living environment, enhance a better lifestyle, and build a better community for customers to enjoy.”
Prof. Ricky Kwok Yu-kwong, Vice President (Research and Institutional Advancement) of HKMU, said, “As Hong Kong’s first university of applied sciences, HKMU is committed to driving impactful applied research and transforming innovative technologies into practical solutions to bring positive change to industry and society. This collaboration exemplifies the synergy of ‘government-industry-academia research’ partnerships. Supported by over HK$2 million in funding from the Research Grants Council’s Research Matching Grant Scheme, HKMU partnered with Hong Yip to leverage MR technology to enhance the effectiveness of property management training and provide new momentum for the industry’s digital transformation. Moving forward, HKMU will continue to address societal needs through applied research, foster cross-sector collaboration, and nurture talent equipped with both practical skills and professional knowledge.”
This smart inspection system utilizes digital twin technology to combine and compare the actual environment with unit layouts and wall structures, assisting property management teams in unit inspection work. Our property management team only needs to wear the MR glasses to view the unit in real-time and completes the inspection process according to the system procedure, significantly enhancing the efficiency of the workflow. This smart training platform, along with the built-in interactive quiz function, allows employees to grasp the necessary knowledge and skills quickly, thereby improving our service quality, reducing errors, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
In 2021 Hong Yip collaborated with HKMU and received government funding to develop a Mixed Reality Training Platform, which has garnered 23 awards to date, affirming Hong Yip’s commitment to fostering collaboration across government, industry, academia, and research sectors. Currently, this smart system has been implemented in our managed properties such as Wetland Seasons Bay. This application effectively enhances work efficiency, supporting our goals in sustainability.
Looking forward, Hong Yip will continue to explore more innovative technology applications and actively collaborate with different institutions, to further promote property management digitalization, provide high-quality services to customers, and enhance business effectiveness and operation quality, contributing to the development of a smart city.
