Hong Yip has always upheld the philosophy “Build Homes with Heart” of our parent company Sun Hung Kai Properties, actively fulfilling our corporate social responsibility by caring for employees, customers, partners and the community. We support various community groups and charitable organizations and are committed to serving and contributing to the community. This year, Hong Yip once again partnered with several organizations to co-organize the “PEACEBOX” Campaign, delivering PEACEBOX gift boxes filled with love and wishes to underprivileged families, elderly and vulnerable groups in Hong Kong.
Launched in 2014, the “PEACEBOX” Campaign has been jointly organized by corporates, churches, charitable organizations and social welfare groups, and has now been held for 13 consecutive years. Each year, Hong Yip leverages our community network to bring together Hong Yip tenants, primary and secondary schools, tertiary institutions, corporates, churches and charities. Over the past 12 years, more than 120,000 gift boxes have been collected. These boxes, containing daily necessities, dry food, toys, stationeries and blessing cards, are donated to grassroots families, elderly and vulnerable groups. Tens of thousands of recipients were benefitted with our love and care.
Mr Alkin Kwong, the Chairman and Chief Executive of Hong Yip, said: “In these difficult times, underprivileged communities need care and support from all sectors of society. Hong Yip deeply understands the importance of community connection. Upholding our corporate value of ‘Serving the Community; Contributing to Society’, we have always actively participated in community and charitable activities and are committed to helping vulnerable groups. Together with partners from all sectors, we strive to build a better, more harmonious society. We hope to encourage more people to participate and join us in sending blessings and care to the community through these boxes.”
The kick-off ceremony this year was held at Yew Chung International School of Hong Kong, and co-organized by Hong Yip Service Company Limited, Saddleback Church Hong Kong, Hong Kong Church Network for the Poor, Hong Kong Gospel Festival Limited, YWCA and Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service – Hong Kong. The event, themed “Let Love Flow” invited about 200 teenagers to take part in ball games, booth activities and the opening ceremony.
Through the PEACEBOX Campaign, every organization turn blessings into tangible gift boxes for each beneficiary family. These boxes not only provide material support, but also allow every family member feel love and care. Looking ahead, Hong Yip will continue to work closely with partners across sectors, take part in more community initiatives, enhance community engagement, and encourage customers, tenants, and the general public to donate gifts for vulnerable groups—taking action to support community needs and help build a healthier community.
